Another Visit to Rumah Kebajikan Warisan Setia Damai

The Club made another visit to Rumah Kebajikan Warisan Setia Damai on 27th June 2011.  On the visit this time around, the Members arrived bearing beddings, stationeries and cupboards for the home.  The children were happy and surprised to see us and chatted with us before going back to their studies. 

President's Appreciation Dinner

President Lion Susan Chew held a President's Appreciation Dinner on 21 June 2011 for the Club at the Chinese Restaurant, Swiss Garden Resort Kuantan.  The dinner was held by the President to thank the Members for their support over the past year.  Invited guest was Lion Merlene Teo who is the President of the Club's mother club, Lions Club Indera Mahkota. 

During the dinner, President Lion Susan thanked all the Members for making the year a success for the Club with the Club winning a number of awards at the Multiple District Convention which was held in Ipoh in April.  Lion Susan also awarded the 100% Meeting Attendance Award to Lion Chang Wen Bing and the Club Bulletin Award to Lion Gerry Lim.  Later in the evening, Lion Peter Sprenger donated some bedding to be given to Rumah Kebajikan Warisan Setia  Damai, the Orang Asli orphanage which the Club visited earlier. 

Visit to Rumah Kebajikan Warisan Setia Damai

The Lions Club of Kuantan City visited Rumah Kebajikan Warisan Setia Damai, an Orang Asli orphanage near Kuantan on 18 June 2011.  The orphanage has around 15 children under care.  Members of the Club mingled with the children and enquired about the well being of the orphanage.  It was discovered that the orphanage does not have any official support and that they require support from the public.  Of immediate need are beddings and stationeries which the Club has agreed to donate.
