Blood Donation Drive @ HTAA Kuantan

LC Kuantan City undertook its second Blood Donation Project for the fiscal year on 22nd November. The Project was organised in a joint-venture with several organisations, namely Lembaga Pelawat Hospital Tengku Ampuan Afzan (HTAA), Tzu Chi, Kolej Shahputra and Badan Nadwah Islamiah.

In conjunction with the blood donation drive, there was also an organ pledge drive, health screening, anti-smoking campaign and health awareness campaign.

Despite the fact that the Project was held at HTAA and the fact that it rained the whole day of event, the Project was a success with hundreds of people coming in to donate blood and take advantage of the free health screening. ADUN for Teruntum, YB Chang Hong Seong, was also on hand to provide support for the event.

The blood donation drive generated 152 bags of blood while the organ pledge drive saw 35 people pledging their organs. With the 152 bags of blood procured, LC Kuantan City has, in the current fiscal year, helped secure 300 bags of blood for the Blood Bank.

A big thank you is given to all the volunteers from the various organisations for helping out on the day, including the valuable support given by HTAA’s personnel to ensure the smooth running of the various other sub-campaigns. Our Omega Leos also helped out our Club on the day.
