Lions with PDRM - A Safe Journey Home

On Sunday, 5th September 2010, the Lions Club of Indera Mahkota, the Lions Club of Kuantan City and Polis Di Raja Malaysia jointly organised a road safety campaign to impart the “Drive Safely” message to motorists in conjunction with the Hari Raya Aidilfitri “Balik Kampung” and School Holiday exodus.

Approximately 200 gift bags containing mineral water, cakes, biscuits, sweets, car sticker and other goodies were handed out to motorists just before the Gambang Toll in Kuantan amidst greetings of “Selamat Hari Raya” and “Pandu Cermat”.

The Road Safety campaign is an annual project for Lions Clubs throughout Malaysia and is usually held prior to major festivals when very heavy traffic is expected on roads and highways due to the “Balik Kampung” tradition. Polis Di Raja Malaysia are always more than willing to assist during these road safety campaigns to ensure smooth flow of traffic.

The campaign held on 5th September 2010 commenced at approximately 10.00 am. By 11.00 am, all the gift bags had been distributed. After a photograph session with the Police, the members of Lions Club of Kuantan City dispersed at 11.15 am.
