Mathavan a/l Periannen who lives along the Jalan Gambang Highway relies on his motorcycle for his livelihood. As he does not have the use of his legs, his motorcycle has been modified so that it can be operated using his hands only.
He collects cardboard cartons for sale which he carries on the side car attached to his motorcycle. The motorcycle which he was using was very old and gave him quite a bit of trouble.

He approached the Lions Club of Kuantan City at the end of last year for sponsorship for a new motorcycle. Through the kindness of several contributors, a new motorcycle was delivered to him on 15th January 2011 together with numerous basic food items like rice, cooking oil and noodles.
